In 2025, NELC delivered outstanding performance across our financial, operational, and strategic goals—achievements made even more significant as we prepared for a major leadership transition.
Bob Calway, Chief Executive Officer of New England Life Care, will retire effective January 2, 2026. Bob leaves NELC after nine years of dedicated service to the company, our Member Hospitals, and the patients we are privileged to care for.

At the October 2025 Board of Directors Meeting, the Board voted unanimously to promote Catherine Boyd, PA-C, MBA, to President and Chief Executive Officer, also effective January 2, 2026. Catherine joined NELC in 2020 as Vice President of Clinical Services, was promoted to Chief Operating Officer in 2022, and to President/Chief Operating Officer in 2025.
Catherine’s appointment reflects a deliberate, long-term leadership transition and development plan designed to foster continuity, strengthen organizational capability, and ensure succession readiness across the entire NELC leadership team. This thoughtful and orderly transition positions NELC to continue its strong legacy of partnership with Member Hospitals while upholding our commitment to exceptional care and service for patients throughout New England.
The Board also acknowledged and thanked Voting Directors who have reached their term limits for their service and dedication:
Amy Hoey, President, Tufts Medicine Lowell, serving since 2014
Lisa Harvey McPherson, VP of Government Affairs, Northern Light Health, serving since 2000
Bruce King, Former President and CEO, New London Hospital/DHMC, former NELC Board Chair, Emeritus Director, serving since 1993
Greg Walker, Former President and CEO, Wentworth-Douglass Hospital, former Board Chair, Ex-officio Director, serving since 1996
Additionally, the Board unanimously approved the election of three new voting Board Officers:
Matthew Marston, PharmD, MBA, FACHE, VP, Chief Pharmacy Officer, Northern Light Health, also serving as NELC Treasurer
Stacie Swanson, MHA, Vice President & Chief Administrative Officer, Tufts Medicine
Tom Manion, MPA, FACHE, Chief Operating Officer, Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center, also serving as NELC Secretary
These leadership transitions, both at the executive and Board levels, ensure continuity, strengthen governance, and support NELC’s ongoing mission to provide exceptional, mission-driven infusion care across New England.
