Robert Calway
President and Chief Executive Officer
Bob joined New England Life Care in 2017 as the Chief Operating Officer then was elected to the role of President and CEO by our Board of Directors in 2023. Bob oversees all clinical programming, quality, regulatory compliance, account management and human resources. Prior to joining New England Life Care, Bob worked as Senior Vice President of Atrius Health where he was responsible for all operations in the Southwest Region of this non-profit accountable care organization of 8,500 employees serving 675,000 patients across eastern Massachusetts with coordinated medical care, home health and hospice. Bob has served in a variety of leadership positions in hospital, academic, research and ambulatory physician enterprises, as well as several regional and national groups. Bob completed his undergraduate degree in Medical Technology at Fitchburg State University and his Master’s Degree is Health Care Administration at Framingham State University. Bob also studied Health Care Epidemiology and Health Law at Boston University School of Public Health.
Catherine Boyd, PA-C, MBA
Chief Operating Officer
Catherine joined New England Life Care in May 2021. Prior to joining us, Catherine worked as Director of Clinical Operations at Essex Inpatient Physicians. Catherine has also worked as a PA in many of the large hospitals in and around the Boston area including Lahey Medical Center and Brigham and Women’s Hospital. While with Partners Healthcare, Catherine was part of the PACE Internal Medical Department where she pioneered with a team of clinicians. Catherine worked with PACE clinicians and conducted a study on the positive impact of patient care with physician assistant/ hospitalist model in medical centers.
Before becoming a PA-C, Catherine was a respirator therapist working in the Emergency rooms and ICUs of two local hospitals. Catherine completed her Master’s of Business Administration at Southern New Hampshire University, and her Master’s of Science at the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences. She obtained her Bachelor of Science, Cardiopulmonary Sciences in Respiratory Therapy at Northeastern University. Catherine serves as an active board member for GNES-PALTC, holds a seat on AMDA’s House of Delegates for GNES, and is a member of AMDA’s Transitional Care Committee.
Michael Gallagher
Chief Financial Officer
Mike joined New England Life Care in 2017 as Chief Financial Officer. In his CFO role, Mike provides financial insight into the development and implementation of the organization’s strategic initiatives in addition to overseeing financial and information technology operations. Prior to joining to NELC, Mike’s healthcare experience included senior financial and operational leadership roles at large, multi-specialty physician group practices including Reliant Medical Group and Southboro Medical Group, an Atrius Health affiliate. Mike holds a Master’s degree in Taxation from Bentley University, a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from the University of Notre Dame and is a Certified Public Accountant.
Brian Treptow
Chief Information Officer
Brian Treptow joined New England Life Care in 2020 as Chief Information Officer. Brian has over 30 years in C-level IT leadership, including most recently as the CIO for The Cancer Treatment Centers of America. In his role as CIO, Brian is responsible for all aspects of Information Technology, including privacy & security, clinical systems integration, member connectivity & integration, patient and member-facing solutions, data analytics, and systems infrastructure. Brian is leading New England Life Care through Digital Transformation, optimizing the use of technology for our members, patients, and key stakeholders.
Jeni Shields
Executive Director of Business Development
Jeni Shields joined New England Life Care in 2001. In her current role as the Executive Regional Director of Account Management, she oversees all aspects of our member relationships as well as new business development. Prior to joining New England Life Care, Jeni held positions in various healthcare and biotech companies in Northern New England. Graduating with a Bachelor of Science degree in Microbiology from the University of Maine, Orono. Jeni also holds a certificate in Project Management from the University of Southern Maine. Jeni is a member of the Ladies Adventure Club in Maine where she enjoys biking, hiking, and backpacking.
